**About the role**:
To assist the Trading Standards Service in providing its Animal Health and Welfare functions in accordance with relevant objectives, policies and procedures.

**About you**:

- Be experienced of working in an agricultural environment or working with farmed animals.
- Have an understanding of statutory and regulatory Animal Health controls undertaken by the Trading Standards Service.
- Be knowledgeable of current agricultural and animal health practices.
- Be honest, reliable and committed.
- Have the ability to work in a sensitive and sometimes stressful environment with the ability to manage workloads/conflicting demands or deadlines.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

**What you will do**:
As an Animal Health officer, you will:

- Undertake inspections of premises and businesses, under Animal Health and Welfare legislation.
- Investigate and report on breaches of animal health and welfare legislation.
- Provide advice and assistance to businesses.
- Liaise with partners and other organisations.
- Support and assist collegues.
- Where required, to work outside normal office hours.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £27,803.00-£29,777.00 per year

Expected hours: 22.2 per week
