We are seeking to recruit a highly experienced, dynamic and talented Consultant Practitioner to help support and deliver plans for a new Dementia & Older Persons Mental Health (DOPMH) strategy, transforming and integrating services as part of the NHS Long Term Plan.

The Consultant Practitioner will work alongside DOPMH colleagues as well as interfacing with the wider Cornwall and Isles of Scilly partnerships e.g. Dementia Partnership Board.

The role also entails a significant amount of teaching and a willingness to develop staff to reach their potentials and career goals.

**Main duties of the job**:
The Consultant Practitioner will be a highly competent, visible, experienced and autonomous practitioner, effectively functioning across the four practice pillars:

- Expert practice: establish values-based practice across the care pathway, service, organisation and system, working with individuals, families, carers, communities and others.
- Strategic and enabling leadership: provide values-based and strategic leadership across the care pathway, service and systems within changing and complex situations.
- Learning, developing, and improving across the system: develop a learning culture to develop staff potential, add to and transform the workforce and help people to learn, develop and improve (in and from practice) to promote excellence.
- Research and innovation: develop a ‘knowledge-rich and inquiry’ culture across the service and system that contributes to research outputs and has a positive impact on development, quality, innovation, increasing capacity and capability and the system.

They will use their expert knowledge and skills to provide Consultancy across all pillars, that includes sharing expertise across the system by using consultancy approaches and opportunities that have the biggest effect on practice, services, communities and populations, and add to and sustain the capacity and capability of the workforce.
