Based in the Department of Public Health, Policy & Systems, the Health Inequalities Policy Research (HIPR) Group is an energetic and thriving research team of 3 PIs (Barr, Taylor-Robinson, Rodgers), and around 50 researchers (senior lecturers, lecturers, clinical academics, PDRAs and PhD students) delivering research projects funded by the MRC, Wellcome Trust, NIHR, the Department of Health and the Health Foundation. Our vision is to improve health and reduce inequalities through the study of the determinants of health and wellbeing and the policies that impact them.

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive administrator to provide a high level of professional administrative support to HIPR and to a portfolio of HIPR research projects. You will support/ implement administrative processes to ensure that the group operations function cohesively and efficiently, working with colleagues at different levels and across functional boundaries.

You will have relevant work experience gained in a higher education environment or a similar large, complex organisation. You should have excellent organisation and communication skills, with the ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure and prioritise activities. You should have a flexible, adaptable approach to work and a willingness to seek continuous professional development. You should have 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) including English Language, and a good level of numeracy.

The post is fixed term for 12 months initially, with the possibility of further extension.

Although the university has a hybrid working system, the expectation is that the successful applicant appointed to this role will be expected to work more than 50% on campus.
