The School of Public and Allied Health and forms part of a suite of Schools in the Faculty of Health, as well as the virtual, pan faculty _Public Health Institute_. The School brings together public and allied health disciplines including specialist community and public health nursing, midwifery, paramedic science, health and social care, social work, environmental health and public health. We are passionate about delivering better outcomes for patients, service users and communities by providing education opportunities for aspiring and practicing public and allied health professionals and implementing impactful research and knowledge exchange activity to inform public health service design and delivery, as well as policy at local, national, and international level. The School hosts a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Violence Prevention, which means we work with WHO to support a global work programme to implement a public health approach to violence prevention, supporting the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those targeting health and well-being, gender equality, and peace and justice.

We are now looking for a Public Health Researcher on a full-time basis, for a fixed term of 12 months. The role will sit in the Violence, Peace and Health Risk Behaviours Research Team led by Professor Zara Quigg.

You will be responsible for undertaking research, evaluation, and evidence synthesis studies with a range of local, national, and international partners. You will undertake systematic literature reviews, study critical appraisal and data extraction, analyse data, and contribute to and lead on the development and implementation of quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation projects. Specifically, this post will have a significant role in implementing qualitative research methods, analysing data and report production for a national violence prevention feasibility and pilot study funded by the Youth Endowment Fund.
