Delegated Authority Business Partner

This is a 12 month Fixed term contract and a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Chelmsford, London or Redhill office

What the day will look like

Working with DA Delivery & Development Manager and Head of DA Solutions by providing a pro-active approach to meet business needs by;
Strong links with Lloyd’s, Lloyd’s Insurance Company and the LMA on behalf of AUM and Aon.
Leading discussions with Delegated Authority teams in our capacity providers to ensure they are kept up to date with plans and changes in advance of renewals or during negotiation of changes and to understand their needs.
Leading renewals for specific SPSs within AUM, working with the Delivery & Development manager to ensure that progress is communicated to key stakeholders.
Support Underwriting teams in articulating performance of SPSs to carriers, by holding quarterly review calls across all SPSs.
Challenge processes and procedures where they are ineffective and ensure all processes and procedures are in place for all key tasks, documented and followed
Responsible for following Governance and risk management steps for an SPS.
Working with the Reporting, Operations, Claims and Fiduciary function managers to ensure that contractual obligations are met, by both time and quality measures (including but not limited to monthly reporting, premium payments and profit commissions). Where there is any deviation, communication to our carriers should be provided.
Drafting SPS Agreements and endorsements as required. Joint ownership of the Agreement templates ensuring they meet minimum requirements.
Responsibility for Risk Legal and Compliance monthly meetings
Liaising with the Lloyd’s Delegated Authority Department on Delegated Authority issues and market initiatives.
Analyse portfolio to gain insight into existing SPSs with Underwriting managers, drawing conclusions and findings to be presented to drive growth.
Supporting the Head of DA Solutions, Chief Underwriting Officer and Head of Global Specialty Solutions with any other ad-hoc requests as required by the business.
How this opportunity is different

The DA Solutions department support Brokers and Underwriters in developing existing insurance products and launching new products as Binding Authorities and other types of Delegated Authority Agreements for AUM and One Underwriting UK (UK branch of Aon’s European Coverholder; One Underwriting B.V.).

The DA Solutions team focus on maintaining and creating solutions for complex placements and drafting best in class Agreements, working with Lloyd's, the LMA and carriers’ Delegated Authority Teams. This could be through the development of an existing product to a greater level of authority (e.g. converting a Lineslip into a Binding Authority) or identifying an area of a portfolio that could benefit from the efficiencies that a Structured Portfolio Solution can offer. We are a hub with specific technical and binding authority expertise, enabling growth in Aon’s coverholder network through insight driven risk transfer advice and market solutions.
