**Job summary**:
All applicants should be aware that due to this being a new post established in an exciting growth area for Defence, the role objectives and responsibilities are likely to change as the Defence Cyber Academy evolves.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
The SEO Training Design and Assurance main responsibilities are:

- Undertake Line Manager responsibilities for Civil Service and Military personnel within the wider Training Design Team, including recruitment of the team. This role has 7 direct reports.
- Manage the design of new training courses through requirements set by the Training Requirements Authority.
- Manage compliance with Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) for all DCA courses.
- Liaise with key customers of Defence Cyber Academy training, to ensure requirements, demand, and sequencing are optimised.
- As a member of the DCA Delivery leadership team, report progress of course design and levels of assurance through the DCA governance processes.
- Liaison with key stakeholders across the HMG Defence and Security community to understand their training and education requirements.
- Work closely with SEO Cyber Education & Evaluation to bring training from concept to delivery.
- Deputise for Head Delivery as required.

- Experience in stakeholder management with outside agencies across government.
- Experience of training governance processes.
- A creative approach to projects and means and methods of training delivery.
- Experience of managing personnel, welfare, and development.
- Track record of effective stakeholder engagement and management.
- Established communication and influencing skills.
- Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable criteria for the job role:

- Knowledge of the Defence Learning Environment (DLE) and other digital tools that can support the development of training course material.
- Knowledge of cyber operations or cyber security
- Experience of working with, or in, a Government department
- Understanding of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) process, to advise and direct staff developing cyber courses.
