A rare opportunity has arisen for aClinical Psychologistto join our Community Forensic Team based in Suffolk. We’re a flexible team and can offer a substantive post with full or part time hours, to work around your commitments. Your base will be at Cedar House in Ipswich, but we encourage as much community-based working as possible, with the opportunity to work remotely too if needed.
Our collaborative team provides recovery-focussed community care for offenders who have been, or are being, discharged from a secure unit and are now living in the community.
You will be joining a well-established, large team of psychologists and a service which has consistently been rated ‘Good’ by the CQC and that aspires to achieve ‘outstanding’ next. Our psychologists come from a range of different therapeutic backgrounds including clinical, counselling and forensics.
We’re passionate about development and you will be supported and encouraged to undertake additional training. If you’re newly qualified, you will commence a preceptorship and will be supported throughout your early career. If you’re an experienced psychologist, there will be the opportunity to undertake specialist training, as well as leadership and more.
Our absolute priority is to find a psychologist who is committed to multidisciplinary working and who will share ideas and support colleagues in developing their psychological knowledge and skills and their skills in formulation and reflective practice in addition to delivering a psychological assessment and treatment service to a caseload of Community Forensic Team service users across Suffolk.
This post offers the satisfying opportunity for long-term therapeutic work with complex service users and will support the development of the Community Forensic Service we offer across the region. We offer a range of specialist therapists including EMDR, DBT, Schema Therapy in addition to CBT.
When you join our service, you will have a thorough induction and will be supported by the wider MDT. Supervision arrangements will be in place, with specialist supervisions also available. We have an established programme of supportive team meetings, journal clubs, peer supervision and research interest groups to name a few. We’re always supportive of research and development opportunities and you’ll have the chance to get involved in a variety of initiatives and truly shape our service.

The post-holder would be part of the wider NSFT Secure Services Psychology Team and would receive professional and governance support from the team. The post will be based in Suffolk at Cedar House on Ribbans Park Road, Ipswich and the successful applicant will be expected to travel to meet with service users depending upon need.
