We are recruiting a Band 4 administrator as part of psychological services for the Psychology Counter Terrorism Team, a national team that provides psychological services to support the delivery of Counter Terrorism strategy within HMPPS. The Psychology Counter Terrorism Team works closely with the Joint Extremism Unit (JEXU) and Counter Terrorism Assessment and Rehabilitation Centre (CT-ARC).
JEXU has oversight of operational delivery against the Prevent and Pursue strands of CONTEST. Delivery is underpinned by a specialist CT case management process, which is delivered by multi-disciplinary teams and provides end-to-end management of this group. This is the mechanism through which an offender’s risk and rehabilitative pathways are assessed and monitored in relation to the concerns of engagement with an extremist group, cause and or ideology. The HMPPS teams work proactively at a local, regional and national level, across custody and community, with operational partners, including Police and security services, to case manage individuals, share information and intelligence and assist with active investigations. The regional teams include operational and probation colleagues.
The CT-ARC team consists of psychologists, specialist probation staff and quality assurance specialists who are responsible for the assessment and intervention products for the terrorist, terrorist connected and terrorist risk cohort. The CT-ARC will see an increased capacity for product development and innovation, informed by the evidence base, utilising the newly formed, dedicated CT-ARC research team.
There are several key elements to this role, based within the Psychology Counter Terrorism Team:
- The post-holder will be required to develop relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. In order to achieve this, there is a requirement to attend key meetings in the Petty France London office at least two days a week.
- The post-holder will be required to collate and manage data; gathering information and using systems to log/analyse to provide information to senior stakeholders.
- The post holder will need excellent organisation skills and an ability to prioritise and manage their own work load amongst competing demands.
- Due to the nature of this role and the information the post-holder will access, SC level vetting is required.

The job holder will be required to provide administrative support and assistance to staff members within their Directorate. Providing a professional and efficient service.
**Summary**
The jobholder will be responsible for carrying out administrative processes, maintaining systems and will act as first point of contact for all HMPPS, MOJ and wider criminal justice stakeholder enquiries arriving into their team, via functional mailboxes, telephone or mail
They will have no direct line management responsibilities but will have regular contact, in an administrative capacity, with internal and external stakeholders including at a Senior level. They will be relied upon to act at all times with professionalism and discretion and in a way that reinforces and enhances the positive reputation of HMPPS.
The post holder also undertakes a variety of specific activities and duties, for which they are held personally accountable, commensurate with their grade.
**Responsibilities, Activities & Duties**
The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:
- To provide secretariat support to meetings, including all preparation of work, taking minutes/notes.
- Assist with the management of local activities for example business continuity, use of government procurement card, sickness absence management. Assist with the collation of data and other management information requirements.
- Co-ordinate/draft responses to information requests under Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts and / or Parliamentary Questions.
- Support and advise staff and management with queries and current personnel policies and procedures.
- To maintain administration databases to record and monitor information & produce monthly reports on these. Ensure that data entered into local and national systems is accurate and in accordance with agreed timescales
- To contribute to the review and development of systems, including procedures regarding the review of all specialist support systems and processes to ide
