We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Fraud Investigation Officer to join our busy Fraud and Compliance Team.

Key aspects of the role include:

- Conducting fraud investigations which comply with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984; Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 and any other relevant legislation.
- Undertaking Interviews Under Caution in accordance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE) with anyone suspected of offences.
- Obtaining thorough and professional statements from potential witnesses, administering sanctions in appropriate cases as directed by the Fraud and Compliance Team Leader and presenting evidence in court on behalf of the Council.
- Supporting the Audit & Fraud Team Leaders in the promotion of anti-fraud arrangements across the Council, including risk assessments; advice on measures to prevent fraud; providing technical support on relevant internal investigations; and supporting corporate investigations including relevant “whistle-blower” allegations.

We are looking to appoint someone at Grade 6, however for someone with either the Level 4 - Counter Fraud Investigator or an equivalent level fraud qualification appointment at Grade 7 will be considered.
