An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team in Marie Curie Hospice in Hampstead, London as a Volunteer Coordinator. You will be part of a team providing excellent service to our patients, their families and loved ones

**Title**:Volunteer Coordinator

**Salary**:£25,600-£28,444 **pro rata per annum plus London Allowance payment**

**Contract**:Part-time: 0.8 FTE 28 hours Per week

**Contract Type**:Fixed term (12 months)

**Based**:Home (With travel to St George’s Hospital and Marie Curie London bases)

The Volunteer Coordinator will set up, manage and coordinate the Marie Curie and St George’s Companions Service. This will include the management and supervision of volunteers, receiving referrals and matching volunteers with terminally ill people and/or their carers. This will include promoting our services to health and social care professionals in and outside of both organisations to ensure as many people as possible who need the service are referred in.

The role will be responsible for recruiting volunteers, ensuring they have a full induction, complete all required training, and are well supported throughout their volunteering at Marie Curie.

Marie Curie Companion volunteers provide a range of support to people with any terminal

Illness. Companion volunteers allow carers to take a break, and help the person who is ill to complete the everyday tasks which can make a real difference to quality of life - from making a cup of tea to getting to a hospital appointment.

We’re looking for someone with a passion for volunteering and who has experience and understanding of the value volunteers can bring to supporting end of life care for people and their families and carers.

- Experience of working with and managing volunteers
- Strong planning and operational service delivery skills
- An understanding of the needs of different communities, including people with protected characteristics
- Excellent communication skills
- A willingness to travel to St George’s Hospital and Marie Curie London locations (virtual working will also form a large part of this role)
- Knowledge and experience of end of life care would be an advantage
