The post holder will work as part of a dynamic multiagency integrated team assessing notifications and referrals regarding children aged 0-19yrs and vulnerable adults that are received by the integrated MASH. The MASH process includes searching for and collating health information from a range of NHS providers both locally in Havering and further afield. With due regard to patient/client confidentiality the MASH researcher needs to interpret and share the information that is necessary to safeguard and /or promote the welfare of a child/vulnerable adult. The MASH is designed to facilitate information gathering and sharing within a firewalled environment.

The post holder should be flexible and able to work as part of a friendly team without close supervision.

The post holder should be willing to be trained in and cover when necessary all aspects of MASH including Safeguarding Adults.

The 5 core elements of a MASH have been agreed by stakeholders as:
Providing a single front door for notifications and referrals

Co-location of key partners

Providing a safe confidential environment

Enables analysis of risk or need on a case by case basis

Enables wider victim identifications within communities

**Specific Tasks directly related to the post**:
Collect and collate information from Health records in accordance with any agreed Information Sharing Protocol, and in compliance with data protection regulations.

To ensure sharing of relevant information as requested by MASH team and ensure the sharing of accurate proportionate information.

Ensure information returns are completed within the agreed timescales of MASH.

Collect and collate information for meetings as directed by Health MASH team leader.

Co-ordinate data to support team activity and the management team in ensuring resources are targeted to areas of greatest need and promoting joint interventions.

Attend all meetings required for the role to support the discussion of data and analysis requirements, or support to present evaluated findings, implications and recommendations.

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436 p.a. pro rata for part time).

**Key Responsibilities**:
Provide a high quality confidential and comprehensive administrative service.

Operate bring forward and reminder systems.

To ensure good communication channels are maintained within the wider MASH Team.

Undertake word processing of all documents to a high standard, in an agreed Trust style and using an appropriate referencing system.

Utilise advanced level IT skills to create reports, spreadsheets and presentations.

Develop and maintain filing systems (electronic and paper) to ensure effective access to relevant information.

Prioritise own workload on a day-to-day basis to ensure that deadlines are met.

Act as a central point of contact for external and internal callers, making judgements regarding appropriate dissemination of key information.

Coordinate administrative arrangements relating to reporting requirements, to include the collation and presentation of documentation, preparing evidence and ensuring information is up to date.

Oversee the facilitation and administration of meetings/panels, including: taking formal minutes that are intended for external review e.g. safeguarding, the production of agendas and coordination of papers, ensuring that key documents are available within defined timescales.

Propose and implement changes to working practices to reflect the needs of the Service.

Respond to ad-hoc requests for information from other Trust sources as agreed by the Manager.

Co-ordinate absence/study leave

Leadership

Manage own workload as part of the team under the supervision of the MASH health professional

Report all untoward incidents and assist with the development and implementation of appropriate action plans.

Meet with team members on a regular basis to discuss report and evaluate team processes and function.

Attend relevant meetings as delegated by the MASH health professional and be expected to feed back
