We are looking for a key member of staff who will work collaboratively in the planning, development and provision of a range of therapeutic, wellbeing and social activities for the service users on the inpatient forensic wards. These will be designed to be appropriate to service user need and within the established service guidelines and you will be supported by the Nursing Team whilst working collaboratively with the Occupational Therapy Team.

Glyme ward is a 17-bedded forensic mental health ward offering services to people suffering from enduring mental illness. We work within the principals of the recovery model and encourage families’ involvement with those in our care.

This post attracts a RSU Lead of £1,446 per annum on top of your annual salary.

The post holder will work collaboratively in the planning, development and provision of a range of therapeutic, wellbeing and social activities for the services users on the inpatient forensic wards as appropriate to service user need and within the established service guidelines. You will be supported by the nursing team whilst working collaboratively with the Occupational Therapy team.

**In this role, your main responsbilities will be**:
To engage service users in physical and recreational activity appropriate to their individual needs and abilities
- To plan and co-ordinate an innovative and adaptive programme of activity under the supervision and direction of members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Organise and plan service user events in collaboration with MDT colleagues to promote inclusivity.
- To develop and use practical and technical skills with service users, either through your own identification of need or as suggested by members of the multi-disciplinary team
- To work with service users to improve their mental health, physical health and wellbeing.
- To assist in identifying service user’s strengths and needs in order to plan and implement suitable activities for groups and individual service users.
- To be involved in evaluating the effectiveness of activity with service users, carers and the multidisciplinary team
- To record clinical information on service user’s progress with members of the multi-disciplinary team

It is mandatory for you to complete Management of Violence Aggression Training, Breakaway Training and other training directly related to the job.
