We are seeking an enthusiastic key member of staff who will work collaboratively in the planning, development and provision of a range of therapeutic, well-being and social activities for the service users on the inpatient wards.
Ashurst Ward is an 11 bedded male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, supporting patients who are in an acute crisis of their mental health diagnosis.
The activity co-ordinator post forms part of the multi disciplinary team, including Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Health Care Assistants, Speech and Language Therapist and Health and Fitness Instructor.
Each of the wards at the Littlemore Mental Health Centre have a activity co-ordinator's in post, providing lots of opportunities to link up with others and receive regular peer supervision.
The activity co-ordinator will work collaboratively in the planning, development and provision of a range of therapeutic, well-being and social activities for the service users on the inpatient wards. In collaboration with patients and colleagues, you will create a 7 day therapeutic activity timetable, supporting patients to engage in meaningful activity during their inpatient stay with the aim to improve their well being and aid recovery. You will be supported by both the Nursing Team and Occupational Therapy Team.

To engage service users in physical and recreational activity appropriate to their individual needs and abilities
To plan and co-ordinate an innovative and adaptive programme of activities under the supervision and direction of members of the multi-disciplinary team
Organise and plan service user events in collaboration with MDT colleagues to promote inclusivity.
To develop and use practical and technical skills with service users, either through your own identification of need or as suggested by members of the multi-disciplinary team
To work with service users to improve their mental health, physical health and wellbeing.
To assist in identifying service user’s strengths and needs in order to plan and implement suitable activities for groups and individual service users.
To be involved in evaluating the effectiveness of activity with service users, carers and the multidisciplinary team
To record clinical information on service user’s progress with members of the multi-disciplinary team
