Historic England are seeking a Publications and Outreach Co-ordinator to join our team.
What you will be doing
As National Specialist Services Publications and Outreach Co-ordinator you will co-ordinate the dissemination of Historic England’s specialist technical and scientific knowledge and advice. This is an opportunity to develop your existing project management, design and social media skills to help produce and promote published accessible advice, guidance and reports, using a variety of media.
Your keen eye for detail, flexible, calm and thorough approach will support individuals and teams to prepare material for both technical and non-technical audiences. Using your editing and design skills, you will create handouts and publicity materials, as well as ensuring publications follow our house style. Raising the profile and visibility of Historic England specialist expertise is a key element of the role and you will manage the Department’s publication programme to maximise the impact of our online advice and guidance. Your experience in using a range of media such as newsletters, social media channels, webinars and blogs will help us reach a wider range of audiences and you will proactively identify opportunities to promote our work at conferences and training events.
Who we are looking for
1. Experience of managing projects
2. Experience of designing promotional material and sourcing images for publication, including gaining copyright permissions
3. Experience of delivering content via a customer facing website and social media platforms
4. Well organised and able to prioritise multiple tasks to meet deadlines
5. Attention to detail and thorough approach to work.
6. Ability to work constructively as part of a team and to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels/Ability to work with, support and influence individual authors and teams
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable experience of editing and preparing documents for publication, writing for social media and the web, as well as designing promotional material using InDesign. With a good standard of written English, you will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a thorough approach to work. With the ability to work constructively as part of a team, you are also well organised and able to prioritise multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
