**Job Title**:Administrative Officer (4696)

**Work Hours**:30 hours per week (5 days per week)

Occasional evening work and a flexible approach will be expected.

**Hourly Rate**:£12.00

**Duration**: Temporary 12 month contract

**Main Area of Responsibility**:
The post-holder will be responsible for providing administration support to the organisation’s project teams and Finance Officer. This will include the accurate and efficient administration of small grant programmes.

The person appointed is expected to be a proficient Administrator with a pleasant and outgoing personality and be able to work well under pressure and integrate into a busy staff team.

**Specific Responsibilities**:

- To answer incoming telephone calls, and transfer calls or pass on messages to the appropriate person.
- To prepare, produce and distribute an EZINE (electronic magazine/ newsletter) on a regular basis.
- To maintain the postal system, including recording post in and post out.
- To establish and maintain a filing and recording system for individual projects as required.
- To provide administrative support to all staff as and when required.
- Any other duties that from time to time may occur that may be reasonably associated with the above post.

**Essential Criteria**
- 3 years’ experience working in a busy office environment within the last 10 years

**AND**
- Five GCSE/Levels A-C or equivalent qualifications (English and Maths compulsory)
- Evidence in your career to date of experience in the use of Microsoft Office based computer systems (use of Excel, Publisher and Word) including database management systems (such as ACCESS)
- Evidence of proficiency in using Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook) software or equivalent
- Good oral, presentation, and communications skills
- Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and meet deadlines.

**Desirable Criteria**
- RSA/OCR Text and Word Processing Stage 2 (Parts 1 and 2) (preferably)
- A relevant qualification in office or business administration or equivalent
- Knowledge of Financial processes (including controlling invoicing, payments, recording etc )
- Knowledge and understanding of the community and voluntary sector locally
