An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to undertake a joint role as Children and Young People SLT Team lead across East Ayrshire.

The Speech and Language Therapy team for Children and Young People delivers services at universal, targeted and individualised levels of care and aims to support the wellbeing needs of children, and their families, at the earliest opportunity by working in collaboration with our communities.

This post forms part of the service for Children and Young People and, together with your job share partner, you will support the leadership and governance of speech and language therapy services for children, young people, their families and carers in collaboration with local partners. You will manage and lead a team of dedicated SLTs who support children with complex needs, disorders of speech, language, voice, fluency, communication, eating and swallowing and who are dedicated to prevention and early intervention in order to maximise outcomes for children, impacting positively on attainment and life chances.
- You will hold:
- University Degree or equivalent (3 years ordinary degree/4 year’s Honours degree).
- Certificate to practise from HCPC (Health Care Professions Council).
- Membership of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (desirable).
- A valid UK driving license

You will be a highly skilled practitioner with extensive clinical experience and experience of line management, clinical leadership and quality improvement are desirable.
Regular support and supervision and opportunities to enhance skills will be provided in line with Turas.
You will be given the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills and will have access to recognized, evidence based training programmes and well as local training opportunities.
You will have strong written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and work constructively with a range of people.

Full driving licence and car owner essential.

Hours: 22.5hrs per week (job share position, however alternative hours may be considered)
