An exciting opportunity has arisen in the role of Depute Chief Executive - Communities and Economy.

The services for which the postholder will be responsible are:

- Ayrshire Roads Alliance
- Economic Growth
- Facilities and Property Management
- Housing and Communities

The postholder will also be the senior point of contact for engagement with Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and East Ayrshire Leisure.

As a Chief Officer and member of the Council’s Executive Management team, you will provide clear leadership and strategic direction across all services covered by the Depute Chief Executive - Communities & Economy portfolio. You will be integral in leading the overall management of the Council with a focus on demonstrating innovation and ambition in the delivery of the Council’s priorities and objectives ensuring, continuous improvement and meeting the needs and aspirations of customers, local communities and citizens in accordance with legislation and best value.

We are looking for an outstanding collaborative leader with excellent people and empowerment skills who brings energy, passion and creativity to this important role. You will have significant experience and achievement in a senior leadership role within a local authority or large, multi-functional organisation of comparable complexity, scope, responsibilities and resources.

**Requirements**:
In accordance with the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 as amended, this post has been designated as politically restricted.

**The Individual**:
This is a permanent full time position based at Council Headquarters, London Road, Kilmarnock.

Hours of work are 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday - Thursday & 9.00 am - 4.00 pm Friday.

Annual salary - £125,765

Due to the nature of your appointment you may be required to work hours in addition to and outwith the above pattern, and this is reflected in the salary for the post.
