**Post**: Community Engagement Worker

**Salary**: £22,594 per annum

**Benefits**: 3% pension employer contribution, 32 days annual leave, Cycle to work scheme

**Hours**: 35 hours per week working occasional evenings and weekends

**Contract**: Temporary until end of June 2023

**The post holder will;**
- Develop, promote and deliver a programme of engagement activity, events and community outreach
- Work with communities and colleagues to co-produce engaging surveys and media materials
- Plan and undertake individual and group work, supporting participation and enabling people to share their views and ideas
- Work with our staff team to recruit and support volunteers, and promote active participation of local people
- Work with our Communications & Engagement staff to develop our communications strategy
- Develop and maintain key partnerships with statutory, voluntary and community organisations
- Take responsibility for organising and delivering own work plan and provide monitoring and progress reports
- Keep abreast of appropriate policy and practice through continuous personal development
- Produce accurate, concise and timeous reports and maintain individual records

**Person Specification**

**ESSENTIAL**
- Experience of effectively engaging and empowering communities
- Good individual and group facilitation, engagement and evaluation skills
- Excellent people skills in relation to communication, listening and motivation
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and online communications tools including MS Teams and social media channels
- Have a good understanding of the needs of local people and knowledge of community based assets in Inverclyde
- Knowledge and experience of effective, person-centred approaches which are sensitive, reactive and supportive
- Good partnership working, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Experience of working as a member of a small dedicated team as well as wider collaborative working
- Good understanding of public health, social care, wellbeing practice

and health inequalities

**DESIRABLE**
- 2 or more years’ experience of working in a similar role
- Experience of working and/or supporting volunteers
- Relevant qualification

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract
