**Overview**:
RIG Arts are hiring a **part time Additional Support Worker** for our **Creativity in Mind **project funded by **Inverclyde Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, **which aims to provide arts driven mental health support for adults in Inverclyde. Regular weekly sessions in a non-clinical environment are designed to harness the benefits of culture, creativity, and community to enhance wellbeing and support recovery. The project will support symptom management, while building coping strategies and self esteem.

Inverclyde Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund will specifically support the expansion of the project to address a need identified through previous delivery**:providing targeted mental health support for adults with disabilities and long term conditions.**

The Support Worker will work with RIG Arts' Creativity in Mind Artist Tutors and Project Manager to gain an understanding of the company ethos and project ambitions.

RIG Arts are seeking someone who will make the role their own, develop new and innovative ways to engage participants and represent their voices. The position will involve hands-on support for participants throughout the workshop, as well as potentially helping support participants with symptom management, socialisation and expression.

The project will run from February 2024 to January 2025 and will run one day a week for 2 hours. The delivery day and time is to be determined as a team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Empowering participants and communities by creating a safe space for a diverse range of voices to be heard and valued
- Maintaining open communication with participants and partners to ensure the project remains responsive and reactive.
- Assisting workshop lead tutors in delivery high quality arts / creative support to all participants
- Building community capacity by identifying lead volunteers, facilitating peer support and actioning gaps in engagement
- Collaborating with RIG Artists to develop and implement plans based upon participant consultation/engagement.
- Working with our Comms Marketer on harnessing social media to encourage engagement: creating project specific copy for all platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and RIG Arts’ website and newsletter.
- Working alongside the Project Manager in monitoring and evaluating delivery of the project against project KPIs

**Requirements**:

- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload, multi-task, work to agreed deadlines
- A valid PVG or enhanced disclosure for working with vulnerable adults
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build good working relationships within the office and with participants
- A willingness to work collaboratively with a small and dedicated team
- Experience in or eagerness to learn a range of artistic practices
- Enthusiasm to make the role their own, take initiative, and set ambitious goals.
- Experience or strong interest in arts driven community engagement and the third sector

After submitting your EOI, we will acknowledge receipt and inform you on the 16th February 2024 whether you have been shortlisted for interview. We will arrange a suitable interview date for the week commencing the 19th February 2024 and we will send over the interview questions in advance.
