The Family Support Worker provides sensitive and specialist information, support, and advice to families whose baby, child or young person is under the care of MFT across the sites RMCH/Wythenshaw e /Trafford /North Manchester. The post holder will co - ordinate the accommodation service for parents whose child is an in - patient on the critical care wards. The
post holder will visit the hospital wards on a daily basis, to introduce the Family Support Service to in - patient families within RMCH.

- p rovide practical and emotional support to children and families accessing services within the

Tru st; particularly those facing life threatening illness, severe chronic illness, recently
diag nosed disability or bereavement.
- work in liaison with other family support services to ensure multidisciplinary working, that

achieves seamless services for childr en/families.
- Act as a keyworker following the death of a child.

The aim of our intervention is to enable each family to find the coping skills to deal with their crisis situation.
This role has an important administrate element and will include data entry, retrieval of computerised records information and use of Microsoft Office.
