**Main duties of the job**:
ELFS Shared Services is a division of Northern Care Alliance (NCA) and is passionate about delivering high quality Payroll, Pension and Expense services currently to 24 organisations across the NHS. Being a leading shared services supplier, this exciting opportunity allows you to work with a fantastic team of individuals and enhance your skills.

You must be able to work using your own initiative and have a willingness to embrace new technologies, change and be forward thinking.

You would support Team Leaders in providing practical training to Payroll Clerks and Trainees. This involves ensuring the day-to-day co-ordination of all work processes by junior staff are completed, and includes a significant role with induction training, and dealing with complex queries.

**Essential criteria**:

- GCSE in Math’s & English Grades 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent
- AAT Technician / NVQ Level 4 or NHS Payroll Experience at a Band 4 level

**HMRC Knowledge**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Detailed knowledge of HMRC & National Insurance regulations

**Desirable criteria**:

- Knowledge of Statutory payments, SMP, SPP, SAP, SHPP etc.

**Procedures**:

- Knowledge of Payroll Procedures

**NHS Pension Scheme**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Knowledge of NHS Pension Scheme
- Experience of using the NHS Pensions Online system
