Packaging Innovation Executive

Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 Per annum + Bonus, Pension, Healthcare & Holiday
Location: Hybrid working 3 days per week based in West London

Our client, a leading FMCG organisation is looking to recruit a Packaging Innovation Executive to drive their growth agenda through cutting-edge packaging concepts. The successful candidate will manage project feasibility, risk assessment, planning, and implementation, collaborating with the marketing and manufacturing teams from concept to launch.

What will my Key accountabilities be?

Partnering with the Marketing team, you will drive the innovation strategy, ensuring product innovations are commercially viable and sustainable. You will provide expertise in the Stage & Gate process, collaborating with Procurement, Production, Sales, and Marketing teams to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. Your responsibilities will include owning packaging specifications, supporting line trials, and creating prototypes to gauge consumer desirability. You will develop industry-leading packaging designs and build relationships to establish a multiyear innovation pipeline. Additionally, you will manage projects from concept to delivery, ensuring adherence to frameworks and proper documentation, assessing project risks, managing stakeholder expectations, gathering requirements, maintaining project schedules, and resolving conflicts. Evaluating and refining design workflows for efficiency, identifying opportunities for automation, providing insights for process improvements, and implementing quality control processes will also be key aspects of your role. Working cross-functionally and collaboratively, you will ensure the smooth execution and delivery of products that meet quality and performance metrics, contributing to the gifting strategy and growth agenda.

A great candidate will have :

Ideally degree educated.
A minimum of 3-to-5-years’ experience in a packaging engineering/innovation role again in an FMCG environment.
Strong ability to translate concepts into commercially successful products.
Attention to detail, numeracy, and commercial astuteness are essential, along with digital and social media skills.
A positive, driven, and results-oriented personality, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks are crucial.
Proficiency in MS Excel and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic organization while maintaining strong controls are also important.
