Estimating Engineer

Brown & Holmes are seeking a detail-orientated and highly organised Estimating Engineer to complement our skilled team. The individual will play a crucial role in providing accurate cost estimations for projects, enabling the company to submit competitive bids to our varied customer base.

The Estimating Engineer role would primarily be office based, with occasional site visits and include the following duties:

*

Analyse and review project specifications, component drawings, RFQ documentation and other customer supplied data

*

Propose solutions to satisfy the customers requirements, with the aid of internal stakeholders where relevant

*

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, including labour, materials and sourcing quotations for subcontract operations

*

Identify mandatory and customer specific requirements, allowing any cost implications these requirements may create to be included in the quotations submitted

*

Identify potential risks in the estimations created and provide solutions to mitigate these risks

*

Create detailed tender documentation and related quotations using our MRP system (PSL Datatrack)

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in preparing accurate and competitive estimates and will have experience of cost estimation within a mechanical engineering role. They will be familiar with working to customers requirements, creating final quotations with constraints identified where fully prescribed data is unavailable.

The individual will be able to analyse complex data from multiple sources, work closely with the customer and internal stakeholders to create a solution satisfying the customers requirements.

They will have a strong understanding of the various manufacturing processes to facilitate the above duties. In addition, the individual would also be expected to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly at all levels.

They will be able to manage their time effectively and be confident in their decision-making abilities. They should also have the capacity to problem solve when required and be able to undertake multiple tasks while working within tight deadlines and maintaining an attention to detail to ensure the needs of our customers and stakeholders are met.

Interest candidates should send their CV, a covering letter detailing their relevant experience and salary expectations
