Cost Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team at Jackson Civil Engineering. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial role in pricing future work, extra scope, and variations for our clients.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of estimating techniques, a sound knowledge of spreadsheets, and excellent analytical skills. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating information for bids and tenders, researching materials, equipment, and labor costs, and preparing and submitting quotations for work.
Other key duties include:
- Gain an understanding of client needs
- Collect quotes from suppliers and sub-contractors
- Plan job timescales
- Assess and advise on commercial risk
- Monitor project stages to ensure costs are in line with forecasts
- Clearly convey financial elements of a tender to site staff
- Ensure all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies
