Job Opportunity: Estimator/Senior Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team at Jackson Civil Engineering. As a key member of our commercial department, you will play a crucial role in pricing future work, extra scope, and variations for our Asset Operational Maintenance and Response (AOMR) Framework, part of the Environment Agency Framework and the Canal and Rivers Trust Framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate information for bids and tenders within designated areas
  • Research materials, equipment, and labor costs
  • Gain an understanding of client needs
  • Collect quotes from suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Plan job timescales
  • Assess and advise on commercial risk
  • Prepare and submit quotations for work
  • Support bids for new contracts and buying activities
  • Monitor project stages to ensure costs align with forecasts
  • Clearly convey financial elements of tenders to site staff
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies
Requirements:
  • Construction background and understanding of estimating techniques
  • Sound knowledge of spreadsheets
  • Detailed analysis of direct and indirect costs
  • Regular reporting on tender progress
