Dunbar Education is currently recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a highly specialised learning environment catering to students aged 6 to 19 with a range of Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and related challenges.

Hours:

Full time - 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Term time only.

Role Responsibilities:

Play a vital role in supporting students with their learning, development, and progress across all areas of the curriculum in diverse learning environments, including the classroom, local surroundings, and the wider community.
Assist young people with a range of needs, including PMLD, complex medical conditions, and autism, to achieve both their educational and personal goals.
Foster an environment that promotes equality, diversity, and the rights of all young people, ensuring they are recognised as learners and treated with respect.
Emphasise support and empowerment of young people to help them thrive.
Develop a deep understanding of Special Education issues and embody the values of Aurora in every aspect of your role.
Deliver high-quality support in all areas of your responsibilities.
Participate in physical intervention and personal care routines when required.

Skills and Qualifications:

Eager and able to pursue formal qualifications, attend training, and take responsibility for their own professional development - fully funded by us.

Creative thinkers who work well within a team and maintain confidentiality when working independently in various settings.
Excellent communicators, particularly in relation to the communication needs of our students.
Able to understand and deliver effective education and support tailored to identified needs.
Educated to at least Level 2 (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
