Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering tailored educational programs to students with special educational needs.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students' social and emotional development.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior support.
  • Help with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
  • Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Attend and participate in relevant training and professional development sessions.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with SEN.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning strategies.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • Experience in using specific SEN strategies and interventions.
  • Knowledge of relevant educational software and technology.
  • First Aid certification.
