NEWPORT AREA, SOUTH WALES

5 Days a week

8-5pm

Up to £45k + benefits

Key Responsibilities:

Setup & Deployment: Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of equipment (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) following specific instructions, checklists, and protocols.
Quality Checks: Conduct post-execution quality checks to ensure proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling, adhering to safety protocols and deployment standards.
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting using standard procedures, swiftly identify issues, and replace faulty components.
Hardware Decommissioning: Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
Incident Reporting: Follow procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Data Centre Technician Leads.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Technical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
Experience: 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
Skills: Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Availability: Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and holidays.
Bonus: Previous data centre experience is a plus
