Overview
On behalf of Buckinghamshire Council, Pertemps Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Enforcement Officer to join the Parking Services team in High Wycombe. Working alongside the Head of Parking Services, you will patrol and issue Charge Notices where required across the County’s parking areas, including on and off street.
Temporary – 12 months with potential to extend
Hours – Full time, 37 hours per week over 5 days (shift based Monday to Sunday between 7am and 10pm)
Pay Rate – £13.55 per hour PAYE (overtime available)
Start Date – ASAP
Location – Based from the Queen Victoria Road offices in High Wycombe, HP11 1BB
About the role
As a Parking Enforcement Officer, you will have a number of responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
Assist the Civil Parking Enforcement Supervisor in all aspects of delivering the parking services
Work on allocated shifts as drafted by the Civil Parking Enforcement Supervisor; this is a seven day a week operation with earliest start of 7am and latest finish 10pm. This will include Bank holidays
Upload / download data from the handheld computers and utilise Council systems such as pay by phone to determine infringements.
Suspend and reinstate parking bays or places including the installation or removal of signs and notices as requested
Carry out checks on the Parking Equipment, and to report any repairs or maintenance required and to liaise with contractors as instructed.
About you
The successful candidate(s) should have:
Willingness to be flexible to meet shift/role requirements - 37 hours a week between 07:00 and 22:00 on a seven day operation
Experience of enforcement and issuing penalty charge notices
Extensive knowledge of Traffic Regulations Orders, parking legislation
Effective interpersonal skills when dealing with public and stakeholders and ability to resolve conflict
Knowledge of car park equipment including individual handheld devices and printers
