Our large, independently owned multi-site engineering and manufacturing client based in Rochdale has an exciting opportunity for a commercially orientated Business Development Manager (BDM) to join their UK team.

Established for over 40 years, the company manufactures niche products at Tier 1 level, supplying some of the world's most well-known brands across a broad range of sectors, including automotive and construction equipment.

The Business Development Manager will report to the Head of Sales and will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clients nationwide. This permanent position is well-suited for an individual with a strong background in solution-based selling or business development within the plastic moulding industry, who is dedicated to delivering a world-class customer experience.

The Role:

Focused on new business development
Visiting clients nationwide to develop and build relationships
Autonomous role within an industry-leading company
Main Responsibilities:

Develop and execute account plans to achieve agreed sales targets, expand the customer base, and maintain competitiveness
Actively participate and contribute to new product introduction (NPI) process
Consistently meet or exceed annual sales targets
Ensure timely delivery of accurate visit reports and updates to customer relationship management (CRM) system
Work with the Head of Sales to ensure all quotes follow the defined costing process and comply with commercial requirements of the company
Identify opportunities and services for new business that align with the design and manufacturing capabilities of the company
Take on account management responsibilities for selected key accounts as directed by the Head of Sales
Provide exceptional customer service throughout the entire sales process
Experience:

Previous experience in a technical sales/business development role within the plastic moulding sector is a prerequisite
Ideally educated to HND level or equivalent
Demonstrate previous experience in technical sales/business development in the plastic moulding sector, with a focus on developing customer-focused solutions
Experience in account planning and development
Good understanding of drivers and demands in the plastic moulding sector
Strong communication and presentation skills
Proven ability to drive the sales process and strategy from planning to action
