One of Europe’s fastest growing specialist electrical contractors is actively seeking a Senior Health & Safety Manager, for a new data centre project in Slough, with their package alone valued at £200m.

This contractor operates across a variety of sectors, data centre, life sciences, renewable energy, oil & gas and utilities and have grown significantly in the last five years. After the successful acquisition of a large project with one of the industry’s leading blue chip clients, they now require a Senior Health & Safety candidate that has a proven track record in the mission critical sector, with a principal contractor.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is career focused, ambitious to lead a £200m+ project and sees themselves climbing the ladder. This coupled with the chance to work on one of London’s flagship data centre schemes, with a highly regarded contractor makes it an excellent opportunity

Health & Safety Lead Responsibilities:

* Assist in developing and implementing EHS strategies and policies to:

* Help ensure the safety of all employees, contractors and visitors

* Ensure ongoing legal compliance

* Keep up to date with current UK legislation and industry best practice and share this information with site staff

* Take a key role in maintaining/improving our overall safety performance and that of our supply chain partners

* Attend all pre-commencement meetings and agree which RAMS need your review

* Review Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) as required

* Sit with and mentor site management teams in site set up, preparing H&S documents or presentations such as RAMS, toolbox talks, etc.

* Perform periodic site inspections and prepare relevant audit reports

* Attend internal project meeting to discuss specific issues when activities on site require

* Take the lead in accident investigations

Health & Safety Lead Requirements:

* NEBOSH or other relevant H&S Qualification essential

* Excellent knowledge of H&S requirements in UK Construction Industry

* Good knowledge of current technical building requirements

* Principal Contractor experience essential

* Ability to build strong working relationships with a wide range of people

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills

* Proactive with strong problem-solving ability
