About the role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) with a specialism in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, particularly in supporting students struggling with depression. This full-time, long-term position is based in Collindale, London, and involves working within Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The interview process includes an in-person interview to assess your suitability for the role and to give you an opportunity to meet the team and understand our school environment better.

• Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs, particularly depression.
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature with a genuine passion for supporting students’ mental health and well-being.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Knowledge of various therapeutic approaches and interventions used in supporting SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, focusing on those dealing with depression.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment to encourage positive mental health and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and external professionals to monitor and review student progress.
• Utilize therapeutic and intervention strategies to support students’ emotional and social development.
