About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a vital member of our educational team, you will work closely with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students who require additional support to manage their SEMH needs. Your role will involve implementing tailored support plans, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, and working collaboratively with teachers and parents to ensure the best outcomes for each student.
Application Requirements:
• Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is essential.
• Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or a related field are desirable.
• Skills: Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and effective intervention strategies.
• Personal Attributes: Patience, empathy, and a commitment to making a positive difference in students’ lives.
• Clearance: Enhanced DBS check required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage effectively with the curriculum.
• Implement and monitor individual support plans, making adjustments as necessary to meet students’ evolving needs.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and deliver targeted interventions that support students’ emotional and social development.
• Foster a nurturing and supportive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and emotional well-being.
• Engage with parents and careers to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on strategies to support learning at home.
