Position Overview
LTF Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a primary school setting. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and assist pupils with ASD in their learning and development.
- Work collaboratively with a dedicated team of educators, including a specialist SEN Teacher and another experienced SEN TA.
- Utilize communication strategies such as PECS and Makaton to enhance students' interaction and understanding.
- Provide personal care as required, ensuring the well-being of students.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience working with children who have severe learning difficulties or are on the autistic spectrum.
- Strong knowledge of ASD and familiarity with communication tools like PECS and Makaton.
- Emotional intelligence and the ability to adapt communication styles to meet the needs of individual students.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
