Our award-winning, Newark based client is looking to appoint a Shipping Coordinator on a full time, permanent basis.

THE ROLE

The successful Shipping Coordinator will have the ability to handle the daily end to end process of international shipping including a working knowledge of the logistics involved in shipping hazardous goods, predominantly goods containing Lithium batteries, whether contained in equipment or not. Responsibilities include:

* Advise on delivery using most appropriate method of transport, taking into account any restrictions

* Be proactive in advising the various business areas and customers on the specific shipping requirements

* Ensure compliance with international rules and regulations

* Draw up all commercial invoices, packing lists, and any additional documents as appropriate

* Working knowledge of how to store and retrieve relevant documentation in line with internal and external audits

* Obtain Certificates of Origin and Conformity from suppliers to meet destination customs requirements

* Advise on the correct packing and labelling of hazardous materials (predominantly lithium batteries)

* Make the correct declarations and draw up Dangerous Goods paperwork as appropriate

* Proactively support the business to keep up with any changes in trade .rules that will affect operations

THE CANDIDATE

The successful Shipping Coordinator will enjoy working in a fast-paced and challenging environment, be enthusiastic and determined, with a positive attitude whilst having the following attributes:

* Qualified with working knowledge of IATA and ADR regulations in relation to shipping products containing Lithium (Ion and Metal)

* Must have experience in a similar role

* Must have previous experience of import/export freight shipping and working knowledge of customs procedures

* Understanding of VAT rules would be advantageous

* Proficient in MS Office

* Strong administration skills

* Committed to continuous improvement and change management
