Fulfil the compliance requirements of our framework, including those related to DBS, Occupational Health, and an updated CV
Prepare the operating room for Major Orthopaedic surgeries, including setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to the surgeon's preferences
- Assist in the preoperative assessment of patients, ensuring their readiness for surgery and obtaining informed consent
- Scrubbing and assisting the surgeon during Major Orthopaedic surgeries, maintaining a sterile field throughout the procedure
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist in providing necessary equipment and supplies during the surgery
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of surgical procedures, including the use of instruments, supplies, and medications
- Monitor patients' vital signs and response to surgery, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the procedure
- Collaborate with other members of the surgical team, including anaesthetists, surgeons, and theatre nurses to ensure seamless and effective patient care
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay updated with the latest advancements in orthopaedic surgery techniques and technology
- Adhere to all infection control and health and safety protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating theatre
Excellent knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies used in orthopaedic surgeries
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, surgeons, and other members of the surgical team
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on-call hours
