**Scrub Nurse - Ophthalmology**

Linq Healthcare are proud to be working in partnership with one of the world leaders in private eye care, who are looking for an experienced Scrub Nurse to join their purpose-built eye health clinic and surgical centre.

Our client delivers specialised ophthalmic procedures to their growing patient population, treating Cataracts, Glaucoma, Dry Eye, Ocular Hypertension and YAG Laser Treatment.

**What will the role involve?**

Being a Scrub Nurse, you will feel confident scrubbing for high volume cataract surgery (18-22 patients a day) and experienced in setting up theatres for a number of ophthalmic procedures, including vitrectomy surgery and full understanding Phaco Machines /Instrumentation and set up.

Your core responsibility is to provide an outstanding service in all areas. You will be able to assist the surgeon seamlessly, while advocating for patient safety, anticipating any potential problems and resolving them.

**What are the requirements?**
- Registered General Nurse or ODP with current NMC or HCPC registration.
- To work within the requirements of the code of practice and standard of the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Strong scrub skills for cataract surgery
- Ability to set up for vitrectomy surgery
- Full understanding of Phaco Machines/Instrumentation and set up
- Full knowledge of the eye and understanding of Biometry/Lens bank/Implants

This is a full time role, 40 hours per week, over 4 days with occasional weekends shared evenly amongst the team.
