The North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Park Authorities look after and promote two of the most beautiful parts of the British Isles. Filled with breath-taking scenery, magnificent wildlife and picture book villages, our National Parks boast some of the most diverse and cherished landscapes in the UK.
We are now seeking a Performance Management Officer to join a team working across the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Park Authorities on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide outstanding support to our organisations in the management of two of the UKs National Parks. Were looking for someone who can manage, collate and present both corporate and environmental outcomes data efficiently, accurately and in an easily understandable way. All English National Parks are moving to provide more consistent reporting arrangements to help implement the national 25 Year Environment Plan, and this role will be at the forefront of driving these changes.
Youll have the chance to develop your career and hone your skillset, as well as undertaking great training and professional development whilst benefitting from hybrid working arrangements.
The National Park teams are based in Helmsley and Bainbridge, North Yorkshire and the expectation is that the postholder will spend at least one day a week at both locations with the remainder of the week being home-based.

The role
As a Performance Management Officer, you will help enhance performance across two National Park Authorities by analysing appropriate performance management and environmental data.
You will use the technology available and work efficiently to integrate, simplify and develop better performance management and reporting processes to improve delivery of National Park purposes. Collating data to provide to the Government and the wider public, you will be responsible for the collection, maintenance and presentation of effective performance information.
Additionally, you will:
- Support the regular reporting and monitoring of corporate performance for the two National Parks
- Develop and enhance the management of data to support implementation and review of National Park Management Plans
- Share learning and best practice on performance monitoring and reporting
About you
To be considered as a Performance Management Officer, you will need:
- Experience of sourcing and interpreting large volumes of data and turning data into high-quality, accessible performance information
- Experience of presenting reports and data to an audience
- Excellent report writing skills
- Organisational skills
- A full, valid driving licence
