Location: Halifax
Our client’s service, is a service for people who have experienced homelessness, including rough sleeping. The service provides eight units at service 1 and 16 units at service 2 of self-contained accommodation with staff on site 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Service 1 is a person-led, strength-based service that focuses on the strengths and assets of individuals rather than deficits. Service 2 provides supports for individuals who may have complex and multiple needs, people who have experience g homelessness, rough sleeping, drugs or alcohol use and poor mental health.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Undertake housing management duties including tenancy enforcement action, rentcollection and recording, organising repairs and maintenance and minimising voids Carry out security, health and safety checks of scheme's buildings and equipment inaccordance with all statutory requirements and recommendations. Ensure that the service’s properties, fixtures and fittings are kept clean and wellmaintained and that repairs are reported and dealt with promptly. Promote a safe and welcoming environment for tenants and visitors. Provide support, information, guidance and practical assistance to tenants onhousing management related tasks. Assist and support tenants to comply with the terms of their occupancy agreement Identify tenants that require additional support to that offered by the scheme andassist people we work with to access appropriate support. Promote ‘good neighbour’ relationships between people we work with and addressany relevant disruptions/disagreements between the people and surroundingneighbours. Develop joint working relationships with other professionals and agencies asappropriate to the needs of the people we work with, including sharing of relevantinformation, in order to review housing and support needs and manage anyidentified risk. Provide a supportive atmosphere for people, encouraging feedback on the service,welcoming complaints and responding appropriately. Accurately maintain property files and records to produce and present reports tomanagement. Work with a range of organisations and volunteers to assist people to build up newand positive friendships and networks Promote and maintain positive working relationships with outside agencies, andattend relevant external meetings as and when required. Participate in policy-making discussions and decisions within the scheme.
