SENIOR DIGITAL TRADING MANAGER

THE ROLE

As we continue to grow our online business, we are looking for an experienced Senior Digital Trading Manager to take ownership for trading across our website and manage the trading team members. Reporting into the Head of E-commerce, you will work closely with Buying & Merchandising, Digital Marketing/CRM, UX & Optimisation, Finance and our in-house Creative and Editorial teams to launch new collections and drive engagement and conversion across the site. You will be accountable for online sales performance across all categories, trade activity and daily maintenance of site content and merchandising.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and manage website activity based on the Business Calendar, aligning with Merchandising and Digital Marketing around new launches, promotional activity, Sales, calendar events
  • Monitor and respond to in-week evolving trade conditions and competitor activity – continually developing, quantifying and proposing trading actions to further optimise revenue and conversion
  • Ensure new collections are launched on time, managing a team covering content management, site merchandising and trading
  • Manage regular site walks to maintain site quality and continually optimise site performance
  • Consistently monitor site engagement and conversion funnel, adjusting site content and merchandising as required
  • Champion optimal use of our Search & Merch tool to drive performance through continual AB testing of strategies and seasonal relevance
  • Support the Head of E-commerce in reporting on trading performance at weekly trade meetings, highlighting key opportunities to improve performance and driving cross-functional alignment and support for agreed actions
  • Collaborate with Finance, Merchandising and Digital Marketing to plan and phase revenue and KPI targets, including establishing yearly budget, quarterly re-forecasting and latest estimates
  • Collaborate with the UX & Optimisation team to identify and prioritise site functionality development within BAU development workstream
  • Champion learning and development for the Digital Trading team – upskilling the team and making the business case for new tools/technology to improve your trading team’s efficiency and effectiveness.

THE PERSON

  • Proven experience in delivering revenue growth in a digital trading role for a fashion-focused DTC e-commerce business
  • Data-driven, with a passion for diving into insights to improve customer engagement
  • Deep knowledge of site merchandising levers and how they can be used to impact e-commerce KPIs and revenue
  • Customer-focused, with a drive to continually ensure optimised site journeys that balance brand and commerce
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to explain analysis and influence decision-making at C-suite level
  • Low ego, naturally collaborative and strong communication skills
  • Confident in building and adjusting financial forecasts to account for evolving trade scenarios
  • Experience leading and coaching a high-performing team
  • Ability to operate in a fast-moving trading environment, with a self-motivated and commercial mindset
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
