Head of Banking Relationships

We are seeking a strategic Head of Banking Relationships to manage and nurture key banking partnerships. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the payments and banking industry , a proven track record of successful partnership management, and a passion for driving innovation in financial services. This role involves developing strong relationships with Tier 1 banks and ensuring that these partnerships contribute to payabl.'s long-term growth.
Reporting directly to the CEO (UK) / Group Chief Financial Services Officer , this individual will lead efforts to build and strengthen payabl.'s banking relationships and position the company as a trusted partner in the global financial services space.
You will:
1. Build & Strengthen Banking Partnerships- Establish, manage, and nurture relationships with Tier 1 and regional banks to expand payabl.'s banking network.
- Drive the end-to-end process of identifying, onboarding, and managing banking partners, ensuring long-term value creation.
- Actively maintain and grow existing banking relationships to improve services, such as increasing transaction speed, reducing costs, and enhancing transparency.
- Develop strategies to enhance the effectiveness of banking partnerships in line with payabl.'s growth objectives.
- Continuously collaborate with banking partners to innovate and drive improvements in products and services.
- Identify opportunities to expand payabl.'s global banking presence and nurture partnerships that align with the company's expansion goals.
- Proactively address and resolve any issues that arise during the partnership lifecycle, ensuring a positive and collaborative relationship with banking partners.
- Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve challenges that may impact banking operations or partnerships.
- Ensure that all banking relationships comply with regulatory requirements, collaborating with Compliance and Legal teams to mitigate risks.
- Manage necessary documentation, including compliance policies and KYC materials, for all banking partners.
- Stay informed on regulatory changes and ensure partnerships remain aligned with global banking standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the banking sector to support payabl.'s strategic objectives.
- Represent payabl. in meetings with banking partners and industry events, ensuring the company's interests are well-represented.
- Collaborate with Product, Compliance, Legal, and Finance teams to align banking relationships with broader business goals.
- Provide insights and practical solutions to stakeholders to strengthen banking operations and partnerships.
What we need:
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of global payments / EMI’s / FX, banking operations, regulations, and market trends.
- Experience: 4-6 years of experience in managing banking relationships, with a proven track record of successful partnership management and relationship nurturing with top banks.
- Team Management: Strong leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team responsible for banking relationships and correspondent banking.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, think critically, and implement effective solutions during the partnership lifecycle.
- Networking Skills: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the banking sector.
