Responsibilities

Sales

  • Manage your area to achieve area sales targets through their interactions with customers and product knowledge
  • Work with colleagues in the sales and branch team to contribute to sales plans
  • Support company sales campaigns and initiatives to increase sales
  • Maintaining existing customers needs as well as developing new customers
  • Analyse sales figures and forecast future sales against targets
  • Maintain awareness of market trends in the industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what competitors are doing
  • Understanding customer needs and identifying sales opportunities
  • Good understanding of ABI portal with a view to follow up potential upcoming projects

Branch relationships

  • Work in close collaboration with the Branch Manager and colleagues to target new business in key channels
  • Keeps HOC informed by submitting activity and result reports, call reports, weekly work plans and monthly/annual territory analysis
  • Knowledgeable of our customer base and the important/top for their branch and their area.

Operational Management

  • Fully understand the workings of Intact IQ
  • Submit quotes and orders via Intact
  • Prepare customer price lists
  • Works with credit control to resolve disputes and help receive payments.
  • Chase and follow up quotations and gain acquisition of the order

Product Knowledge

  • Technical knowledge on existing and new UP Building products
  • Understand pricing in order to achieve the companys expected margins.
  • Onsite customer take offs

Customer service

  • Respond promptly and professionally to all customer contact via phone, email and face to face
  • Help resolve customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions.
  • Maintain existing Customer relationships and needs.
  • Work with the team to anticipate customer needs and organise the branch to deliver to them
  • Manage and respond to customer complaints and comments within 24 hours.

Needed to be successful in the role :-

  • Numeracy and literacy skills, educated to GCSE or equivalent
  • Experience of working in a builders merchant or similar environment
  • Experience of product sales and/or working in a target driven environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent organisation & planning skills
  • IT skills
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Full driving license
Working Hours:-
  • Monday to Friday
  • 8am - 5pm
