Bristol, United Kingdom University of Bristol Full time

The Bristol Doctoral College (BDC) is a centralised support service for all postgraduate research student activity at the University of Bristol. It runs a central Postgraduate Researcher Hub at the heart of the University campus and assists with the coordination and development of a range of postgraduate research activities, such as the Personal and Professional Development Programme, EDI-related initiatives, and Cotutelle (Dual Doctorate) programmes in partnership with international universities.
The BDC coordinates all centrally funded PhD scholarships at the University and engages with a number of partners in support of PGR activity, including home and international Research Organisations, industrial collaborators and sponsors from Rolls-Royce to AstraZeneca, and UK Research & Innovation.
We are looking to appoint a PhD Scholarships Coordinator. Working with a small team, the role holder will look to provide professional, proactive project coordination and administrative support with a focus on partnerships and Postgraduate Research scholarship management.
Support team operations and priorities, including undertaking appropriate analysis to support decisions or recommendations, particularly around PhD partnerships, scholarships and other areas identified in the University strategy.
Coordinating scholarship application processes and ensuring adherence to processes, regulations and standards.
Monitor and manage all expenditure and budget activity and keep accurate records of individual scholarship programmes to ensure full disbursement and clear and effective communication with critical stakeholders (internal and external).
Maintaining an overview of scholarship programme contracts with external partners and sponsors.
Liaising with critical internal and external stakeholders (such as Finance team, scholarship applicants and Faculty stakeholders) and providing regular progress reports.
Provide analysis to support decisions or recommendations relating to PhD scholarships and associated activities.
Offer additional logistical support for scholarship-related activities across the BDC team.
Experience in using a range of business IT programmes, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to manage confidential data requirements.
The University of Bristol aims to be a place where everyone feels able to be themselves and do their best in an inclusive working environment where all colleagues can thrive and reach their full potential. We want to attract, develop, and retain individuals with different experiences, backgrounds and perspectives – particularly people of colour, LGBT+ and disabled people - because diversity of people and ideas remains integral to our excellence as a global civic institution.
