Children's Assistant Team Manager

The Company

Hackney Council are currently seeking a dynamic, organised, committed and passionate Children's Assistant Team Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Safeguarding and Reviewing Service of the local authority and further shape the quality assurance and practice across Children's services in the area.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible as Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) for:

  1. Giving oversight and managing allegations against people who work with children
  2. Giving guidance to employers and voluntary bodies about how to deal with allegations against people who work with children
  3. Liaising with the police and other groups to make sure that cases are dealt with as quickly as they can
  4. Reporting to the local safeguarding children's board about all allegations against people who work with children and their outcomes

Please note this is a part-time position working 21.6 hours per week.

If a concern is raised by someone who isn't the employer or the organisation, then sometimes the LADO will advise that a different procedure (for example - making a complaint) is more appropriate.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will bring a comprehensive knowledge and skill-base to the challenge of working with vulnerable children and families. They must have a relevant professional social work degree, current registration with Social Work England, 5 years post qualifying experience, experience of working in a LADO Role, and evidence of continuing professional development. An enhanced DBS check is required.

Apply Now

If you are a dynamic, organised, committed and passionate worker with a comprehensive knowledge and skill-base to the challenge of working with vulnerable children and families, and who has strong knowledge and experience of the LADO role, then we want to hear from you.

Please submit your CV via email to [Email Address] or click the 'Apply' button now. I look forward to hearing from you
