Minik Kardes Childrens Centre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Room Leader to join our team. As a key member of our nursery staff, you will be responsible for creating a stimulating and happy environment for children to grow and learn.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Plan and provide a range of educational and developmental opportunities for children aged 0 to 5 years, ensuring that each child's needs are met.
- Foster and develop good relationships with parents and carers, and ensure that planning for their children is in partnership with them.
- Take on key worker responsibilities, including planning, assessment, and record keeping, and provide exciting and stimulating activities based on next steps for children.
- Ensure that any information received concerning the children is kept confidential.
- Help promote understanding of the aims of the centre among the children, their families, and the wider community.
- Support the development of the centre as a community resource.
- Participate in staff meetings, personal and group supervision, staff training and development days, and external training as appropriate.
- Implement high-quality early years practice and provision to support all children to reach their full potential, particularly in the prime areas of learning and development across all centre services.
- Manage the room activities and weekly planning with the support of senior management.
- Take responsibility for an area of the curriculum, aspect of practice, or area of development, which may change according to the developing needs and priorities of the centre.
- Take responsibility for leading and coordinating an area of the centre's services.
- Line manage staff within your room, provide cover for senior managers when required, and work towards being a SENCO or Safeguarding lead.
- Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children in your care and those you encounter.
- Undertake child protection training at a level commensurate with role.
**Requirements**
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in childcare/early years practice with suitable practice placements.
- Substantial post-qualifying experience of working with children under 5 in an early year setting.
- Educated to English GCSE (A-C) or equivalent.
- Demonstrate the ability to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, and provide a safe learning environment.
- Secure knowledge of early childhood development and the importance of early identification and intervention.
- Knowledge and understanding of the national early years framework and the importance of play in young children's development and learning.
- Ability to adhere to the equal opportunities policy.
