Nursery Deputy Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at EDG Nursery. As a key member of our management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the provision of high-quality childcare services to our children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice for childcare.
  • Manage staff, maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children, and liaise with parents and external stakeholders.
  • Assist the Manager in setting and implementing objectives for policy within the framework of the EYFS.
  • Supervise staff, identify their learning needs, and advise key-staff of these.
  • Formulate, operate, and evaluate a yearly programme of activities suitable to the age range of children.
  • Promote Equal Opportunities throughout the nursery and work alongside parents/carers of special needs children to achieve full integration.
  • Liaise with the Local authority and other professionals associated with the nursery.

Requirements:

  • Minimum level 3 qualification in Children and Young People's Workforce Early Years qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-qualified experience working in a Preschool/Nursery setting with 0-5 year olds.
  • Good working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance.
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulations relating to early years education.
