They offer tailored learning opportunities for students in non-traditional academic environments, helping them gain skills for apprenticeships, employment, or further education. Overview of the Role of Construction Tutor We are seeking a Construction Teacher to provide effective teaching, learning, and assessment for students with complex needs and behaviours. The role includes:
  • Teaching Construction qualifications from Entry level to Level 2, focusing on electrics, plumbing, carpentry and bricklaying
  • Creating an inspirational learning environment with high expectations for learner achievement.
  • Planning and updating schemes of work to meet curriculum and accreditation requirements.
  • Using varied teaching strategies and resources tailored to individual learner needs.
  • Maintaining classroom discipline and safeguarding student wellbeing.
Qualifications required for the Construction Tutor
  • Recognised teaching qualification (minimum Level 3).
  • Extensive experience in teaching and planning.
  • Occupational background in construction skills (Bricklaying, Carpentry, Electrics, Plumbing).
  • Experience working with young people with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of diverse teaching and behaviour management strategies.
