This is a fixed-term, 1 year maternity cover position. Guildhall School is a vibrant, international community of musicians, actors and production artists and one of the UK’s leading providers of lifelong learning in the performing arts.
This includes six Guildhall Young Artists centres around the country, which together provide performing and production arts training for over 3,000 children and young people, and a wide range of short courses and summer schools reaching 1,200 children, young people and adults each year. We also work with Islington Council to manage the Music Education Hub for the London Borough of Islington, and provide the London centre for the National Open Youth Orchestra, where talented disabled and non-disabled musicians rehearse and perform together.
We are seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager (Learning) to develop, implement and evaluate innovative and creative marketing and PR campaigns to publicise the School’s offer in under 18 and adult education. This role will plan and manage the production of relevant marketing materials and content, across print and digital channels, as well as liaising with the School’s PR agency on opportunities for media coverage.
They will provide expertise to a wide range of stakeholders across our youth and adult learning activity on promoting their offer, and ensure that all communications across this offer are audience-centred, on brand and comply with data protection standards. They will also provide supportive line management for the Marketing & Communications Coordinator (Learning).
The post holder should have a detailed understanding of the needs and expectations of parents, teachers, young people, adult learners and hobbyists interested in the performing and production arts, with the ability to plan and implement creative and effective marketing campaigns. Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail are essential, with experience of producing high quality marketing materials. A DBS check will be required.
Some occasional evening and weekend work will be required, for which time in lieu will be given.
