Our client based on the outskirts of Cambridge is recruiting for a Health and Safety and Compliance Manager to maintain H&S, environmental and social standards within the business.

Duties will include:

* Ensure Health & Safety policy and practice are monitored, maintained and implemented

* Ensure Environmental policy and practice are monitored, maintained and implemented

* Undertake monthly site visits and liaise with H&S/Env site representatives to ensure the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Environmental Policy are implemented consistently. Provide support as appropriate

* Assist in the identification of training needs for employees and arrange training as required

* Assistance for managers to implement health & safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements, such as accident reporting and COSHH in a consistent and effective manner

* Carrying out investigations of accidents understanding circumstances and causes of accidents and take necessary steps to prevent a recurrence

* Ensuring ISO standards are adhered to and consistently high levels are maintained

* Collating, gathering documentation and adding to the internal compliance management system within assigned timescales and deadlines

* Ensuring the management system is maintained/updated including general data entry and administration tasks

* Support/gathering necessary documents and data to upload into system

* Providing assistance to Line Managers, etc. where necessary, eg data entry, report writing and general administration

* Reporting, profiling energy and water consumption, analysing waste generation data and seeking strategies to reduce waste

* Assist with any training or support required across the business

* Highlight areas in need of development or opportunities for increased efficiency travel to other company locations, as and when required Carbon Reporting & Science Based Targets

* Oversee ‘Green House Gas Protocol’(GHG Protocol) and soon to be attained

Experience skills/required:.

* Graduate with relevant qualifications

* NEBOSH

* Previous experience in H&S and Compliance

* Ability to work on own initiative in line with guidelines.

* Highly organised with an eye for accuracy, enjoys and is capable of a fast pace of working.

* Able to be flexible regarding role content and hours of work depending on business needs/seasonal
requirements.

* Adaptable, approachable and personable

* Used to dealing with sensitive information.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* IT literate, notably Microsoft Office (including Excel, Power Point)

* Demonstrates an enthusiastic but professional approach with a desire to develop.
