We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learner Support Advisor to join our team. The primary responsibility of the Learner Support Advisor is to provide personalised guidance and support to unemployed individuals, assisting them in accessing education, training, and employment opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual assessments to identify the educational and training needs, as well as employment goals, of unemployed individuals.
  • Develop personalised learning plans in collaboration with clients, taking into account their strengths, skills, and interests.
  • Provide information and guidance on available education and training programs, including eligibility criteria, application processes, and financial assistance options.
  • Assist clients in overcoming barriers to accessing education and training, such as childcare, transportation, or financial constraints.
  • Offer support and encouragement to clients throughout their learning journey, including monitoring progress, addressing challenges, and celebrating achievements.
  • Collaborate with external partners, such as educational institutions, training providers, and employers, to facilitate access to opportunities for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes using designated systems or databases.
  • Stay informed about relevant policies, programs, and resources related to education, training, and employment services.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Hold an IAG qualification 
  • Previous experience working with unemployed individuals or in a similar support role is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and build rapport with diverse individuals.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude towards clients facing various challenges.
  • Proficiency in using computers and relevant software applications for documentation and communication.
